Polyurea or a liner: which is better for my pool?

By the SealCraft Iberia team · Updated June 11, 2026

A liner is a pre-formed sheet laid into the pool. It is relatively cheap, but can leak at the seams, is more easily damaged by sharp objects and usually needs replacing after about 8 to 12 years.

Polyurea, by contrast, is sprayed seamlessly onto the substrate and forms a single whole with no weak spots. It is far stronger, crack-bridging and lasts considerably longer. Polyurea also adapts to any shape, including steps, corners and irregular pools.

A liner can be a fine budget solution, but those who want the fewest worries and the longest lifespan in the long run usually choose polyurea. We're happy to advise you honestly on what makes the most sense in your situation.
