How do you repair a crack in a concrete or fibreglass pool?

By the SealCraft Iberia team · Updated June 11, 2026

Cracks usually result from movement: ground settlement, temperature swings, ageing or stress in the structure. On the Costa Blanca, dry, shifting soil often plays a part. It is important to understand the cause first, otherwise the crack comes back.

Not every crack is equally serious. A surface hairline crack in the finish is different from a structural crack that runs through the shell and lets water through. Quick local repairs with sealant or cement often fail because they are rigid and don't move with the substrate, at the first movement they crack open again.

A durable solution tackles two things: the cause of the movement where possible, and a finish that bridges cracks. An elastic, seamless polyurea coating moves with the substrate and forms a closed, waterproof skin across the whole shell, so a single crack is no longer a leak.

We assess whether a crack is superficial or structural and which approach is responsible. Feel free to request a no-obligation assessment; for pricing we prepare a tailored quote.
